Sheraton Porto Hotel

What is the concept of MUNs?

Model United Nations is a student-organised simulation, of the several committees within the United Nations. Students take the role of assuming a delegation, and therefore have to defend their country's position throughout the debate. These conferences are capable of teaching students skills which they most probably would not have a chance to acquire inside a classroom. Instead, delegates are given the opportunity to spend amazing days meeting new people, become acquainted with other perspectives over sensitive and pertinent issues and, most importantly to us, be different - or better, daring to make a difference.
This is the philosophy that we always keep in mind whilst organising OPOMUN: Dare to make the difference!

ABOUT OPOMUN

OPOMUN has been a pivotal part of our school's tradition. Last year, OPOMUN reached its 10 year mark. The directors, teachers and, most notably, the students of CLIP - The Oporto International School have passionately organised OPOMUN, which keeps growing both in size and most importantly, in debate quality, something we aim to continue to do in this edition.

For more information regarding MUNs, please download the attachments below. Above you will find a video of last year's edition, and if you wish to discover more regarding previous OPOMUN editions visit our school's Media Club channel:
